Surviving Trauma, Crisis & Grief
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have been through the gamut of childhood trauma, adult trauma, depression, suicidal thoughts, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and C-PTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) due to a devastating family loss. I have been through the battle for life and lived to tell the tale, and use my own experience to help and encourage others.

Surviving Trauma, Crisis & Grief was written from my own experience of childhood ACEs (Adverse Childhood Events) and adult trauma, and is highly endorsed, with five star reviews from those who read it.

The book is used as the basis for my Trauma Awareness & Care Training (TACT) course, which was successfully piloted with a church group in South Africa and is available for churches worldwide.

If you are experiencing trauma and its effects, please do everything possible to get the help you need. There are many effects and emotions caused by trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. These are normal and it is important to know that. It is vital to get the support and understanding you need.

To help where I can with information and encouragement, I have set up a page on facebook called Surviving Trauma, Crisis & Grief

You can also find steps to help survive trauma, crisis and grief in my book, Surviving Trauma, Crisis & Grief. (amazon link below but again would be nicer to have the link on the book title if at all possible).  Written over four years while finding my own way through trauma and C-PTSD, this book is endorsed by counsellors, Christian ministers and others.

“Having read over 100 books on these subjects, it was a delight to find one the is practical, insightful, and anticipates the questions the reader will have. You will return to this excellent resource again and again to find your questions answered. The author has definitely done her homework. Whether you have just begun counselling, have been counselling for years, or are reading this as someone who has walked this journey, Surviving Trauma, Crisis & Grief will be at the top of your list.”

“I love this book!  It is well planned, written and laid out with Michelle’s personal story supporting the validity of the content.  If I had seen this when I was in the early stages of my trauma laden years, I would have devoured it in one.  Understanding your journey of trauma and grief can be so debilitating, especially when the ‘professionals’ around you just can’t grasp the depth of what you are living with and would rather send you off with the medication and tell you to get on with it!  I love the encouragement Michelle expresses in her writing.  It is refreshing to find this kind of support in the written form.”

“This book on trauma and crisis should have been written 25 years ago, when trauma was an almost non-existing topic in Christian circles.  It was prayed away, or not acknowledged, or even worse, spiritualised as something you have to endure when you want to serve God.  You will find life-truth in this book, showing you that trauma is not your fault, and how you can help yourself get back to yourself and life.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“An accessible and highly practical guide to working through trauma from both practical and spiritual perspectives. Michelle addresses the reader personally from the depths of her own struggles and thus offers no pat answers but ones discovered through her own experience and research on her journey dealing with C-PTSD. The book does not minimise the difficulties and pain of trauma and offers affirmation and encouragement to sufferers and those wishing to support them. As an experienced Christian counsellor, I welcome this book as an easy-to-read, useful and validating addition to the literature on surviving trauma.
