Art
Art is one of my avenues for creative expression and I sell my work online, in a local shop/gallery and as commissions.
I like to engage in different kinds of art using various media. I love to recycle and repurpose, and work with natural materials and a variety of mediums.
Please visit my shop to purchase or request commissions on the contact form at the bottom of the home page.
Therapeutic Art and Craft
Arts and crafts are really helpful activities to engage and focus the mind when people have suffered trauma, PTSD and C-PTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Creativity gives the mind a chance to rest from recurring trauma-related thoughts and images, and uses the brain in constructive ways, providing positive experiences to help form new, positive neural pathways.
Much of my recent art and craft developed during just such a time. I am very thankful to all the other artists, craftspeople and creatives I’ve been privileged to know who have created an environment of grace and space for the therapeutic power and esteem-building productivity of creativity.

Artwork Range
Pet Portraits
Pets become special members of the family.
Commissions can be in pastel, acrylic or pencil…or even as an air dry clay sculpture!
Welsh Slate
I use 80-100 year old Welsh slate roof tiles to produce many unique designs. These include welcome signs, house signs, personalised greetings, Christmas tree decorations, memorials, garden and house decorations. Slate is prepared to ensure edges are smooth, painted, varnished with UV varnish, and rope can be added through holes drilled in the top for hanging if desired.
Jewellery
Wear nature with these sea-washed and river washed slate pebble pendants, hand-painted with flowers and other designs from nature in acrylic, complete with simple, adjustable, waxed cotton cord necklace. Though simple, they look stunning on the wearer, and will draw comments and compliments for their uniqueness and pretty hand-paintings. Each piece is signed on the back. Commissions taken and can be customised in design and colour to suit preferences and match clothing.
Paintings in acrylic
I love colour and I love wildlife, and this often shows in my paintings which always have an original touch and bring a unique presence into any room. In the overall design you will often find small details to discover that keep you looking. Commisions taken.
Driftwood
My quirky driftwood light pulls have proved popular. Each piece is carefully chosen for its shape ensuring it fits snugly in the hand and has no rough areas. Then it is hand-painted in acrylic with original designs, can be spray varnished for protection, and a plaited hemp cord is added.
Collage
Collage is endlessly fun and produces even more interesting results by using my own hand-painted papers. Commissions taken.
Abstract Art
I love to experiment with different movements, tools and the unpredictable and create unexpected outcomes in abstract art. I plan to move onto larger and larger pieces. Commissions taken.
Pencil Crayon
I do occasional work in coloured pencils including pet portraits and cards, and particularly creating the whimsical and lyrical in this medium. Commissions taken.
Pressed Flowers
I love flowers and I use dried, pressed flowers to create pictures, cards, and on jewellery.
Air Dry Sculptures
I enjoy making sculptures of characterful hares, sheep, dogs, birds and other creatures. These are made with an armature (inner support), shaped and coated with air-dry clay. This is assisted in the drying process by baking. The sculpture is then painted, coated with several layers of varnish, and mounted on a wooden block. These make characterful and unique gifts. Commissions taken.
Paintings in Pastel
I love chalk pastels. Most of my work has been animal portraits and I particularly enjoy creating expression in the eyes. It is a medium I plan to use more. Commissions taken.
Greeting Cards
I love making a variety of cards using watercolour, acrylic, pencil, collage, or even pressed flowers.
