Finding beautiful and enjoyable things helps to combat the stresses of life and helps our souls, our mind, will and emotions, to be healthy.
An important building block in having a healthy soul is thankfulness. That’s easy to say, but what about all the problems we are experiencing? All of us can focus on what is wrong, what we don’t have, what hurts, and what needs fixing in our lives. But if that is our main focus, we will be unhappy, stressed, sick people, and not enjoying healthy living like we could.
Thankfulness lifts us above the troubles to a new focus and produces positive chemicals in the body that help to relieve stress and anxiety. If most is well in your world, perhaps thankfulness isn’t a problem? But what if you are in the middle of a crisis or two?
Thankfulness in trauma and crisis takes practice. We have to practice thinking and speaking thanks for all the good things in our lives. This morning I spoke my thanks for a faithful husband, loving children, a sweet daughter-in-law, a sensible son-in-law, my dog, a roof over my head, friends, food to eat, and the gift of life. You may not have all those things, but you too have something to be thankful for, whether it’s your sight, hearing, sense of touch, a bed to sleep in, or ten toes.

As we build healthy bodies with the foundation stones of nutritious food and natural, toxin-free products, we can build healthier souls with thankfulness, and enjoy our lives more.

Practice a little thanksgiving now and feel it beautify your world and your soul.
